The village of Chekovo is located 35 versts from Vladimir, on the banks of the Yakhromka River. In the first half of the 17th century, it is mentioned in the books of the Patriarchal Treasury as the estate of Prince Ivan Vasilyevich Golitsyn, and in the second half of the same century, as the estate of the Moscow Assumption Cathedral. In the Patriarchal books from 1628, a church of the great miracle worker Nicholas is noted in Chekovo, and in 1677, a church belonging to the Assumption Cathedral.

In 1713, a wooden chapel in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh was added to the wooden church of St. Nicholas. In 1781, this church burned down, and the parishioners purchased a wooden church in the village of Spasskoye-Savelov, which was moved and consecrated in the same year in honor of St. Nicholas, with a chapel in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The church existed until 1822.

In 1822, the dilapidated wooden Nicholas church was dismantled, and in its place, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, a stone warm church with a stone bell tower was built, dedicated to the same saints. In 1836, the parishioners built another stone cold church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. In 1886, both churches and the bell tower were surrounded by a stone fence.

Copies of the metric books from 1800 and confession records from 1829 are preserved intact. An inventory of church property was compiled in 1880 and is kept in the church. The land associated with the church includes less than 1 desyatina of homestead land, as well as 33 desyatinas and 406 square fathoms of arable and haymaking land. The plan and boundary book for the land are also kept in the church. The clergy consists of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist, who receive support from interest on capital up to 50 rubles, income from services and needs, bread collection, and land, totaling about 1000 rubles per year. The clergy's houses are located on church land.

The parish includes the village and the village of Vasilyevka, with a total of 215 households, 668 men, and 758 women. In 1885, a church-parish school was opened in the village, and in 1887, peasant Voronov built a wooden house for it on a stone foundation.
