Church of the Holy Trinity in Bolshoye Andosovo (Lost)

Фото 1
In the village of Bolshoye Andosovo, known for its three-altar church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, Tsar Ivan the Terrible allocated funds for the construction of a temple to strengthen the Orthodox faith in the region. The book by Archimandrite Makariy, "Monument of Church Antiquities," dedicated to the history of the Nizhny Novgorod region, also mentions the existence of a two-altar wooden Trinity church in this village. However, the church building has not survived to this day, as it was destroyed in the early 1980s.

On November 5, 2010, a memorial cross was erected at the site of the destroyed church. The initiative for this installation came from a native of the village who advocates for the restoration of the church. The cross was consecrated by the dean of the Pilnyin district, Priest Mikhail Kozhukhar.
