In 1698, a new settlement named Kandala appeared seven versts from Kandala, named after the river. To distinguish them, words indicating their location were added to the names: the old and large village became known as Bolshaya Kandala, while the new and small one was called Malaya Kandala.

With the establishment of the new village, a wooden church was built with an altar in the name of Archangel Michael, which is why the village of Kandala also received the name Arkhangelsk, which was used as the main name for a long time.

In 1781, a new wooden church was erected in the village with an altar in the name of the Holy Trinity. According to church traditions, the previous altar is usually preserved when replacing an old church with a new one, but in this case, the new church received a new altar since the old church remained in place.

For a long time, there were two churches in the village, so the name Arkhangelsk was retained. After the dismantling of the first church, starting from the second half of the 19th century, another name, Troitskoye, began to appear.

The Holy Trinity Church was built with the funds of the parishioners. It had two altars: the main one, of the Life-Giving Holy Trinity, and in the chapel, of the Archistrategos Michael. The church was unheated, it had a library, and the priest lived in a wooden house owned by the community.

The prosperity of some peasants allowed them to begin construction of a new brick church in 1914. With the efforts of the villagers, the walls were erected, and the dome construction began, but the October Revolution interrupted the building process.

In the 1930s, a large bell was thrown from the high bell tower. Later, the church was closed, the remaining bells were removed, and in 1952, the domes were demolished by tractors, and the building was used as a warehouse.

In the same 1930s, the unfinished brick church was dismantled, with bricks partially taken away and partially transported to the village of Lesozavod. The old-timers remember the artesian well that was next to the church. Now, a club and a park have been built on the site of the dismantled church.
