Фото 1
The village of Bolobonovo, located in the Pilninsky district, was previously part of the Kurmysh district of the Simbirsk province. This place is the ancestral home of the Shipilov family and is associated with the names Kasyanov and Lyapunov. According to N. Bazhenov's "Statistical Description of Cathedrals, Monasteries, Parish and Domestic Churches of the Simbirsk Diocese," in 1900, Bolobonovo had a single-altar wooden church built by parishioners in 1793 and dedicated to the Life-Giving Trinity. The village had two schools: a zemstvo school and a literacy school, opened in 1894 and located in a public building. Since 1892, a public library-reading room operated at the church, founded by Sofia Sergeyevna Shipilova. In a preserved photograph, she is captured on the porch of her estate in Bolobonovo, third from the left in a light cape, along with guests, landowners from neighboring estates: Pazukhin from the village of Bortsurman and Shipilov from the village of Deyanov.
