The church was built on the site of an old building that was not listed as a protected architectural monument. In August 2005, during filming, the finishing works on the facades and interiors were nearing completion. The building consists of a small square base and a semicircular apse. The entrance to the church is located on the western side and leads through a porch. The name of the church is still provisional, as it has not yet been consecrated. Information about the name was provided by the nuns from the nearby St. Nicholas Women's Monastery in the neighboring village of Novoe.
