In 1712, in the village of Veliky Dvor, Prince Afanasy Fyodorovich Shakhovskoy erected a church in honor of the Holy Trinity, after which the village was renamed Troitskoye. By 1736, the church had deteriorated significantly, and at the request of the peasants, permission was granted to build a new building, which was consecrated in 1737.

In 1764, landowner Alexander Filippovich Ugryumov built a stone five-domed church with a tent-shaped bell tower, and moved the wooden church to the village of Gorki. In 1808, after the church in Gorki burned down and the residents dispersed, Ugryumov arranged a chapel in the Trinity Church in memory of the Pokrov Church from Gorki. Thus, the church had two altars: one in the cold part in honor of the Holy Trinity, and the other in the warm chapel in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Since 1886, a church parish school operated in the village.

The church was closed in 1939, and its valuable utensils, including icons and sculptures, were transferred to the Pereslavl-Zalessky Historical and Architectural Museum. Later, the building was used as a warehouse and then abandoned. Restoration work began in 2009.
