The cathedral church in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity was built in 1699 under the guidance of the rector Filaret Ozadski on the site of a wooden structure. It is located on the northern side of the monastery wall, near the Holy Gates. The church was warm and had five domes, with a vaulted ceiling and a five-dome completion on octagonal drums. Attached to it was an altar in honor of St. Philip of Irapp, added in the 1840s. In 1830, a significant fire occurred, damaging the Trinity church and completely destroying the wooden bell tower. In the same year, a new bell tower was built and the temple was repaired.

The architectural design of the building was characteristic of Russian architecture of the 17th century, although it lacked the typical stone decor.

During the Soviet era, the building housed a dormitory for female medical staff. In 1996, on the feast of the Trinity, the church suffered significant damage from a fire.
