Church of the Holy Trinity at the Bogoroditsky Fedorovsky Monastery in Ratkovo Estate

Фото 1
The Church of the Holy Trinity, built of brick and whitewashed in 1878, has a longitudinal-axial composition. It consists of a rectangular volume of the church with two symmetrical chapels, three apses, and a square refectory. The central apse, which has a triangular shape, is wider, longer, and taller than the side semicircular apses. To this day, only the apses have been completely preserved. The volumes of the church and refectory have been preserved to a height of about 4.5 meters and are covered with new gable roofs. The facades of the church, adorned with three arched windows, have a symmetrical composition with corner pilasters and strips. The windows, which are now bricked up and significantly altered, are framed by columnar surrounds. The apses are divided by smooth pilasters into bays, decorated with archivolts above alternating windows and niches, and a toothed belt runs along the top of each bay. The facades of the refectory are divided by smooth pilasters into three equal bays, each of which previously had a high arched window, now bricked up and altered. The western corners of the facades are highlighted by paired pilasters with strips. The western facade of the refectory is also divided into three bays by pilasters with strips, with arched niches in the side bays and an entrance opening in the center. The interior space of the church is defined by four massive pylons in a cross shape with corners cut towards the center. The column-free space of the refectory is divided by pilasters with a step, on which, possibly, the supporting arches rested. Currently, all vaulted ceilings have been lost.
