Church of the Three Saints in Urtazym

The church dedicated to the three saints, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, is located in Urtazym, Orenburg region. Its construction took place from 1747 to 1829 and in 1882.

According to local residents' memories, the Urtazym church was the most beautiful building in the area. The snow-white structure was surrounded by slender trees, and nearby was the parish school. Alexander II, still a crown prince, traveled through Russia with his tutor Zhukovsky. Passing through the village of Tanalyk, he could visit this remarkable church, considered one of the most beautiful in the region.
