The village of Sarniki, located by the ponds, was 20 km from Sudogda and 66 km from Vladimir. Until 1685, there was a "Prokhorov Desert" near the village, which was abolished after the death of the last representative of the princely family of Vorotynsky, Mikhail Vorotynsky. The monastery was maintained by this family. After its closure, the monks moved to the Spassky Murom Monastery, and the monastery churches became parish churches served by the clergy of the Timothy parish. A rampart made of natural stones and overgrown with old elms remains from the monastery wall.

In the mid-18th century, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord burned down, and services were moved to the warm church in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. By 1775, the Nicholas church had fallen into disrepair, and the parishioners decided to build a new wooden church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In 1859, this church also burned down, and a new wooden church was built in its place. In the mid-19th century, there were three courtyards at the Sarniki parish, and in the village of Gladyshево, there were 37 courtyards.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a glass factory named Blagoveshchensky, Gladyshевский was built near the village of Gladyshево. A chapel with a revered icon of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was located at the factory, built in memory of the Blagoveshchensky women's monastery that once existed in these places. The factory owner Ivan Fyodorovich Gavrilov decided to build a stone church of the Transfiguration of the Lord instead of the wooden one. First, a stone bell tower was erected, but the revolution halted further construction. Thus, the wooden church with the stone bell tower remained at the parish. In 1935, funerals were still held in the church.

After the cessation of services, the church was closed. Some icons were taken home by the parishioners of the village of Gladyshево, while others were transported to the Nativity Church in the village of Likino. The iconostasis was taken to the village of Starye Kotlitsy, Murom district, and some liturgical books ended up in the Zayastrebsky parish church. The stone bell tower was dismantled for bricks in the 1960s. The wooden church gradually fell into disrepair, aided by the local residents.
