Фото 1
Rudina-Slobodka, a settlement in the Smenetsvskaya volost, is located on the left bank of the Volga, 12 km north of the city of Myshkin and 2 km from the road leading from Myshkin to the Volga station. The Church of the Tikhvin Mother of God, founded in 1795, has preserved its original architectural ensemble, including a fence with towers, the Holy Gates leading to the road and the Volga, as well as a chapel above the gates. In 1871, a 'winter church' was added to the temple. In the vicinity of Rudina Slobodka, there have long been villages inhabited by 'gorshalis', peasants engaged in pottery. The temple complex was built with their funds and serves as a religious center for the 'gorshalis'.
