Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Martynovo

The Tikhvin Church was built of stone, with a bell tower, and was erected in 1803 through the efforts of the parishioners. The church has two chapels: one in honor of the Tikhvin Mother of God, located in the cold part, and the other, in the summer, dedicated to Saint Nicholas. The parish has six chapels, all wooden and covered with shingles: one in the churchyard at the holy gates, another in the village in honor of All Saints, the third in the village of Khmelevitsa in honor of the Kazan Mother of God, the fourth near the village of Diakonovo on the site of a former wooden church in honor of the Savior Not Made by Hands, the fifth in the village of Peremilovo in honor of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky, established in memory of the liberation of the peasants from serfdom, and the sixth in the village of Fedorovo in honor of Saint Alexander Nevsky, established in memory of October 17, 1888.

The church land comprises 69 desyatins and 2164 sazhen. There is a church house for the priest's residence. The church's endowment amounts to 2286 rubles and 27 kopecks. The parish has 1455 parishioners, including 628 men and 827 women. The parish includes 25 settlements. The village of Martynovo is located on flat terrain by the Khmelevka River. A zemstvo school and church parish guardianship operate at the church. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist.
