Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Lyubim

Фото 1
The church, consecrated in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, was built in 1786. It is made of stone, originally had one dome and a tiered bell tower. In the mid-19th century, a two-story gallery was added to it. In 1848, there were eight bells in the bell tower. The church has three altars: in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, the Prophet Elijah, and the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was particularly venerated. During the Soviet era, the building housed the Lyubim MTS, and from 1971, a carpentry workshop.

In 2001, the complex of the Trinity Church was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church. Worship services resumed in the church, and restoration work began on the lost elements.
