The parish of Saint Tikhon was founded in 1989. The prayer house is located in an old building that was supposed to be demolished but was provided to the parish by the City Executive Committee. The building is currently undergoing repairs. Under the guidance of the current rector, the parish has significantly strengthened and increased in number. Services are held on Sundays and on holidays. The parish also has a Sunday school "Rainbow" and a library.

The parish has a prayer room of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg in Volzhskaya Hospital No. 1 and a Christmastide prayer room in Volzhskaya Somatic Hospital, as well as providing pastoral care for military unit 10875 named after Lodzinskiy Order of Alexander Nevsky.

The parish regularly organizes pilgrimage trips for believers to the holy places of the diocese.

The parish has a library and a Sunday school "Rainbow" for children and adults. In 2008, a vocal-instrumental trio "Slavoslovie" was created at the parish, which actively participates in church and secular events in the city and region.
