In the depths of the city, on a street formerly known as Ukleyinskaya and now Tolbukhin, there is a small red brick church. It was built later than all other churches in Romanov according to the design of architect M. Barenkin.

In the 19th century, Romanov, Borisoglebsk, and its district ranked second in the number of Old Believers after Yaroslavl and its district. The church was erected in 1914 with funds from Old Believers from Romanov-Borisoglebsk, among whom were well-known local merchant families.

This is a one-story, yet spacious and bright building with large windows, designed in the Russian style. The church is not plastered and features a tented bell tower, with an arch serving as the entrance.

In 1936, the Holy Tikhon Church was closed, and for a long time, it housed the Tutayev archive, which allowed the building to remain in good condition to this day.

Currently, there is no Old Believer community in the city.
