Фото 1
In 1818, the first Orthodox church was opened at the Russian embassy in Constantinople. In 1867, a separate building was constructed for it. In 1923, the church was closed, and the building was converted into a boiler house.

The church is located in the Büyükdere district, on the grounds of the summer residence of the Russian consulate general in Istanbul. In 2009, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia consecrated it during his official visit to Istanbul.

Today, the church is active. Previously, there was a chapel nearby where small services were also held, but it was destroyed and has not survived to this day.
