In 2006, in honor of the 1700th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Barbara the Virgin, with the blessing of Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, the St. Barbara the Great Martyr Parish was established in Orange County, California.

The creation of the Russian Orthodox parish in this region was a significant event for the local Orthodox Russians. With faith and hope for God's help and the intercessory prayers of St. Barbara, the parish confidently and steadfastly moves along its path of life, striving for the Heavenly Kingdom.

St. Barbara's Parish follows the Julian calendar, just like the Orthodox Churches of Russia, Serbia, Georgia, Mount Athos, and the Holy Land. Services are mainly conducted in Church Slavonic, but English litanies are added for English-speaking parishioners.

Our parish has a friendly and open atmosphere. We treat each other with sincere Christian love and respect, remaining in humble obedience to the Mother Church and its guidance.

On Sundays, our church choir sings beautifully.
