The Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, a parish church of the Russian Orthodox Church in Tehran, Iran.

In the late 16th century, monk Nikifor established the first Russian Orthodox parish on the territory of Persia. By the early 20th century, a Russian spiritual mission was operating in Iran, and by 1917 there were about fifty Russian Orthodox churches. However, in the early 1920s, most of them were lost. From 1918 to 1946, the parish was led by Archimandrite Vitaly (Sergiev).

In the first half of the 1940s, thanks to donations from Russian emigrants, a Russian church, the Nicholas Cathedral, was built on the northern outskirts of Tehran, which was under the administration of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. The official opening took place on March 8, 1945. The architect was N. L. Markov. The iconostasis was transferred from the closed Alexander Nevsky Embassy Church, and some church utensils came from a building on Aromane Street, which had previously been rented as a church. At the same time, a two-story church house was built, which housed the office and the priest's apartment.

In the 1980s, the church gradually fell into disrepair. In 1995, at the request of the parishioners, the Nicholas Church was joined to the Moscow Patriarchate, and an hieromonk (later igumen and archimandrite) Alexander (Zarkeshev) was sent to care for the parish.
