Фото 1
On June 12, 2001, the first stone was laid in the foundation of the temple. On October 22, 2002, the church, dedicated to the Resurrection of the Righteous Lazarus, was consecrated and handed over to the Church.

The initiator of the construction and an active participant in the project was the mayor of Veliky Novgorod, Alexander Korsunov, who tragically passed away a month before the consecration. The mayor's widow presented Archbishop Lev of Novgorod and Staraya Russa with an icon of Saint Righteous Lazarus, which her husband intended to gift to the new church.

During the ceremony, 170 Certificates of Gratitude and 26 Letters of Gratitude were awarded to those who participated in the construction.

Bishop Lev, signing the act of transferring the church to the diocese, noted that the church would become a place for saying farewell to the deceased, where prayers would always be offered for the late head of the city and all those resting in the Western cemetery.
