The Sreten Church, serving as a religious center for the residents of the Sreten parish in the Zashugomskaya volost of the Soligalich district, had several names: the Church of the Meeting in Zashugomye, the Sreten Church, and the Meeting of the Lord in Zashugomye. The parish was located in the north of the Soligalich district, on the border with the Vologda province.

The church, built of brick with a stone bell tower and covered with lime plaster, was erected in 1834 with funds from the parishioners on the site of a burned wooden church. In 1863, it was classified as a sixth class according to the staff regulations. The church had three altars: in the cold part in honor of the Meeting of the Lord, in the warm part, in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God and the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist.

Part of the glue oil painting from the early 20th century in the academic style has been preserved in the temple. The dome of the rotunda is decorated with an image of Sabaoth, and at the base of the dome, a grisaille cornice with rosettes has been preserved. Between the windows of the rotunda are depicted the apostles, and to the east, on either side of the lost crucifix that crowned the iconostasis, are the figures of those who stand before it. The traditional figures of the evangelists are placed in the pendentives. The western wall of the church's square is adorned with a composition titled 'The Meeting.' In the lunette of the northern narthex, an image of the Kazan Mother of God icon has been preserved, and in the apse's conch, the sky with cherubim. The doorways retain metal grilles from the mid-19th century.

The original two-tiered iconostasis in the Empire style with returns to the side walls has been preserved in the temple. The central part of the iconostasis is highlighted by light entablature. On either side of the royal gates once stood columns supporting a cornice with modillions and rosettes. The icons of the lower row were rectangular, while in the second row, they were round, semicircular, or octagonal. Above the royal gates was a large arched opening crowned with a triangular pediment with a broken horizontal cornice. Initially, the iconostasis was painted dark cherry, which was later replaced with gray, and the carved details were gilded.
