On November 12, 2015, the construction of a chapel in honor of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous began in the village of Ostankino, located in the Bor urban district of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas performed the consecration of the cornerstone. He was assisted by clergy from the Nizhny Novgorod diocese. The ceremony was attended by the chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly, Evgeny Lebedev, the head of the district administration, Alexander Kiselev, the dean of the Bor district, Archpriest Alexiy Parfenov, the head of the Ostankino territorial department, Maria Kalashnikova, the benefactor of the church, Ilya Bolshov, as well as guests of the village and numerous local residents.
