In 1717, Emperor Peter I, by his decree, transferred Velikovskoye with its meadows and forest lands to the Blagoveshchensky Monastery. In the same year, a church was built in Velikovskoye. It is known from literary sources that it was rebuilt due to its dilapidation, and in 1877 it was constructed anew. In the 20th century, the church was lost. From 2005 to 2007, a new temple was erected in its place.
