Church of the Transfiguration in Surovatikha

Фото 1
In the village of Surovatikha, there is a stone church dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, built in 1815. It has three altars: in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky, and Nicholas the Wonderworker. A unique feature of the church is its long refectory part with two rows of windows, which is quite rare. Originally, the church had a tall four-tiered bell tower, but during the Soviet era, the three upper tiers were lost. Currently, a chapel has been arranged in the lower tier of the bell tower.
