The Transfiguration Church was originally built of wood around 1630. It survived fires in 1769 and 1829, after which it was rebuilt in stone in 1831 and 1840. In 1934, the church was closed and subsequently destroyed. In the 1990s, a prayer house was opened in the building of a former department store for the newly established Transfiguration community, which later became a parish church. The last priests, Alexey Lavrov and Mikhail Salgansky, were executed in 1937.
