An example of a tiered bell tower in the classical style, along with a parish school in modest forms of late eclecticism, serves as a vertical dominant in the open landscape. The complex is located a significant distance from the village of Shipilovo, east of the Kostroma-Buy highway. In 1631, there stood a wooden Transfiguration church here when the nun Martha transferred the village to the ownership of the Moscow Novospassky Monastery. Between 1721 and 1723, the church was replaced by a new wooden one, built with the funds of A.I. Ivin. By the early 19th century, this church had fallen into disrepair, and in its place, a stone five-domed church of the Transfiguration was erected, with symmetrical chapels of the Introduction and Archangel Michael and a tall bell tower, consecrated in 1820. The church territory was surrounded by a stone fence, which included the parish cemetery. In 1886, the Domninsko-Khripely department of the Alexandrov Orthodox Brotherhood opened at the church. With the funds of the Brotherhood, a church parish school building was constructed north of the church in the late 19th century, part of which was likely used for the housing of the church clergy. The fence was dismantled in the 1930s, and in the 1950s, the church was destroyed, losing the roof of the bell tower, while the roof and ceilings of the school collapsed. The walls of both buildings are made of brick.

The chapel from the early 20th century represents a variant of a small rural chapel in eclectic style. The brick chapel is located a kilometer west of Khripely, in a field, next to the road. The construction of the building in the 1910s may be associated with preparations for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov House. The cupola crowning the chapel has been lost, and the sloped roof has partially collapsed. The building has a plan in the shape of a regular hexagon. The facade decor is typical for its time: a slightly protruding base runs along the bottom of the walls, ending with a rough cornice with a ledge and small bricks, while the corners are emphasized by rusticated pilasters. Each face of the wall is adorned with a large niche with stepped sides, in the center of which is an opening, either a window or a false one, with a rounded lintel. The entrance to the chapel with a flat ceiling is located on the west facade.
