The village of Spas-Besedy, located on the Voyminka River, is 5 km from Sudogda and 36 km from Vladimir.

According to legend, the establishment of the village is linked to the return of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich from Kazan. The troops could return along the Sudogda River to the Klyazma. The first church of the 16th century was built on the left bank of the Voyminka River, near the Murom road, where, according to tradition, the royal retinue rested. However, in the early 17th century, this church became deserted for unknown reasons and was listed as abandoned in the patriarchal books until 1635. This may have been related to robberies and the proximity of the Murom tract.

In 1635, a new wooden church, also consecrated in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord, was built on the opposite bank of the river, away from the main road. Until recently, traces of the cemetery remained at the old site. In 1715, another church in honor of the Kazan Mother of God appeared in the village. In 1808, a stone temple with a bell tower was erected in place of the two wooden churches. It has three altars: the main one in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and in the warm part, in honor of the Kazan Mother of God and St. Sergius of Radonezh.

The church in Spas-Beseda did not close after the revolution. Icons from closed or destroyed churches in the district were transferred here. For instance, the icon of the martyr Mina with a life story was brought here during the liquidation of the city cathedral and has survived to this day. The image of Saint Empress Alexandra from the estate church of Krapovitsky was also saved and now adorns the church of the martyr Alexandra. The Not-Made-By-Hands image of the Savior was transferred from a chapel in Lukhtonovo, which was dismantled due to road construction. The church was well supplied with utensils, holy icons, and liturgical books. The church icons of the Transfiguration of the Lord and St. Sergius of Radonezh were adorned with silver-gilded vestments.

The parish included the villages of Lobanovo, Penki, Gorki, Ovtsino, Soymy, Khokhlachi, and Koshukhino. According to clerical records, there were 906 men and 971 women in these villages. Since 1892, a church-parish school operated in the village of Spas-Besedy, where 22 students were educated.

In the village of Lobanovo, there was a stone chapel that was destroyed during the Soviet era. Saints Florus and Laurus were venerated here. Currently, a wooden chapel has been built with funds from a military man from Murmansk, Krupnov. It was consecrated in memory of the martyrs Florus and Laurus by Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal on August 23, 2003.

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Spas-Beseda has undergone periodic repairs: in 1953, wall paintings, gilding of the iconostases, and kiots were updated; in 1976, the paintings in the warm chapels. Partial repairs were conducted in 1998 and 2002. The church has several icons of new writing, including the icon of the Kazan Mother of God and St. Sergius of Radonezh.
