The Spaso-Transfiguration Church is one of the oldest churches in the Vyksunsky district. It was built in 1800 by an unknown architect with funds from Ivan Batyshev, the owner of the Vyksa Metallurgical Plants. The wooden structure of the church is designed in a style reminiscent of stone architecture: it is clad in profiled boards and painted white.

In the 1930s, the church was closed and used as a vegetable storage. In 2007, by order of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Transfiguration Church, which was in a semi-ruined state, was transferred to the Nizhny Novgorod diocese.

In 2008, the restoration of this unique shrine in the village of Snovedi began, thanks to significant financial support from OAO 'United Metallurgical Company' and OAO 'Vyksa Metallurgical Plant'. The church building is being restored in accordance with its historical appearance. The original white stone, preserved since the church's foundation, has been used for the foundation cladding. The walls are constructed from 13-meter logs, which will be clad with boards and plastered inside. The church will be adorned with columns and porticos. The completion of the restoration work is planned for September 2009.

On May 21, 2009, Archbishop Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas consecrated the domes, crosses, and bells of the Spaso-Transfiguration Church.
