The village of Rozhnovo is located 32 versts from Vladimir and 13 versts from Suzdal, on the banks of the Urshma River. In 1788, a stone church with a bell tower was built in Rozhnovo, initiated by the owner of the village, Prince Vladimir Petrovich Prozorovsky. The church has two altars: one in the cold part, dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, and the other in the warm chapel, in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

Church documents have been preserved in full: copies of the metric books have been kept since 1802, and confession lists since 1829. An inventory of church property was compiled in 1826 and is kept in the church. According to the staff schedule, the church has a priest and a psalmist. The church also owns a wooden chapel in the village of Zernevo, built on the site of the former church dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was assigned to Rozhnovo in 1803. The parish includes the village, the village of Zernevo, and the villages of Zaberezhye and Denisyeva, with a total of 140 households, where 402 men and 437 women reside.
