The stone church in the village of Pristanoye, Saratov district, was built in 1822 thanks to the efforts of titular advisor Grigory Ignatievich Popov. The church had two altars: the main one dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, and the altar in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The parish included the villages of Ust-Kurdyum, Dolgiy Buerak, Muratov Buerak, Bazhanovka, Zosimovka, Sharapovka, Vasilyevka, Kirillovka, and Sumarokovka.

The priest and the psalmist lived in old church houses.

On July 31, 1912, by his own wish, priest Nikolai Mikhailovich Alekseyevsky became the rector of the Spaso-Transfiguration Church, having previously served in the Trinity Church of the village of Gostevka in the Volsky district.

By 1918, the parish of the Transfiguration Church had 542 houses, with 1,637 men and 1,758 women living there.

According to data from 1918, the psalmist Ivan Simeonovich Agrikov served in the Transfiguration Church, having graduated from the two-class church-parish school of the Cyril and Methodius at the Sretenskaya Church in Saratov. He owned a house on church land in the village of Pristanoye. Since 1899, the church elder was Iosif Alexeyevich Bezpalov, who held this position for about 20 years. A small library for parishioners operated at the church.

After the revolution, copies of the metric books of the Transfiguration Church were transferred to the Pristan Volost Executive Committee in accordance with the instruction of the Commissioner of Justice regarding the implementation of the decree on the separation of Church from state and school from Church dated January 23, 1918. The parish and the rector adapted to the new conditions: on May 9, 1918, a church council of 12 people was elected, with Vasily Maximovich Khokhlov as its chairman.

In 1937, the church in the village of Pristanoye was closed. On September 20, 1937, an operative officer from the 4th department of the NKVD conducted a search and arrested priest Nikolai Alekseyevsky. By the decision of the judicial troika of the NKVD, Father Nikolai Alekseyevsky was executed on October 29, 1937, at 10 PM.

The old Transfiguration Church in the village of Pristanoye was destroyed in the early 1970s. Near the site of the destroyed church, a new temple was built in 1997 according to the project of architect D.V. Golubinov. On September 27, 1997, Archbishop Alexander Timofeev of Saratov and Volsk performed the great consecration of the newly built church in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
