The brick church, built in 1700 with the support of Metropolitan Joasaph of Rostov, is a two-light square with a three-part altar. It is adorned with a belt of kokoshniks with shells and five onion-shaped domes on faceted drums. The church has a refectory with a northern chapel and a bell tower. The main altar is dedicated to the Transfiguration, while the refectory contains the Nikolsky chapel. In 1829, the refectory was rebuilt, and likely at that time the bell tower was raised and much of the decor was removed. The church was closed in 1940, after which the altar, refectory, and domes were destroyed. Currently, the building is vacant and in poor condition.
