The village of Baturinskoye is located southeast of Yekaterinburg and south of Shadrinsk, at a distance of 235 versts from the first and 24 versts from the second. It was named after the first settler, a peasant from Vologda province, Varfolomey Eustafyevich Baturin, who arrived here with two companions, Andrey Golubev and Ivan Prakhov. The village founded by Baturin was part of the Kaban parish until 1865, after which it became an independent parish, joined by the villages of Lashkova, Krutikova, and Kolesnikova. The parish has 3,520 residents, all of whom are Russian peasants engaged in agriculture.

The first church in the village of Baturinskoye was wooden and was laid according to the decree of Metropolitan Pavel of Tobolsk and Siberia on June 27, 1765, and consecrated on November 27, 1767, in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In 1796, a chapel in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was added to the Transfiguration Church and consecrated on August 12 of the same year.

In 1816, the construction of a stone two-story church began. The lower church was consecrated on October 22, 1819, in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. At this time, the old wooden church was dismantled, and its usable wood was used for floors and stairs in the new church. The upper church was consecrated on June 12, 1842, in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and its walls were decorated with iconography. In 1853, the church was surrounded by a stone fence with two wings.

In 1863, Bishop Ion, from the Kapustin family, donated a bell weighing 250 poods to commemorate the centenary of the priesthood of his family in the village. In 1865, Archimandrite Antonin, also from the Kapustin family, gifted a topaz cross with a particle of the Life-Giving Tree. The church has an icon of Saint Great Martyr Paraskeva, which is venerated by the locals. Every year, on the 9th Friday after Easter, many pilgrims come here. The parish has a chapel in the village of Kolesnikova, which has existed since 1831 and was expanded in 1897.

Since 1872, a procession to the cross established in 1871 has been held in the parish. There is a zemstvo school in the village and a church-parish school in Kolesnikova. A church house is available for the priest.

In 1922, 142 liturgical items were confiscated from the Baturin Church, including the topaz cross. In 1931, the church was seized and used for various needs, including a bank and a diesel station. During the war, the bell tower served as a parachute tower. In 1995, the church was returned to the believers for restoration. The building was in a deplorable state, but by 1999, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, the chapel of the Kazan Mother of God was restored. The first service took place on August 19, 1999. In 2001, Father Sergey was appointed as the rector of the church. The church is gradually being restored: insulation work has been carried out, stairs and the spire have been restored. Work is underway to restore the chapel of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In 2007, the church received relics of the holy martyrs Elizabeth and Barbara.
