Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Nikulino

Фото 1
The beautiful church, consecrated in honor of the Savior Not Made by Hands, is located near the village of Nikulino.

The red brick complex was built in the second half of the 18th century. Its architecture predominantly features baroque elements, but the influence of classicism is already noticeable.

The central church is a single-story square structure connected to a rectangular refectory on the west side and a small apse on the east. The massive octagonal light drum is adorned with small pediments, and it is topped with a spherical dome featuring round windows, crowned with a handmade wrought iron cross. A three-tiered bell tower, decorated with columns at the corners, completes the church ensemble. The exterior finish, characteristic of late baroque, has almost no masonry decoration.

Currently, the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands is abandoned, with significant damage to the masonry and roofing, and the interior decoration has mostly been lost. Restoration work is not planned in the near future.
