Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Mikhail-Archangel

Фото 1
Two versts from the ancient town of Lyubim in the Yaroslavl region lies the village of Mikhail-Archangel, which before the revolution was called Arkhangelskoye in Raments. In the center of this small village stands the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, built in 1772 thanks to the efforts of local residents. The church has five altars: of the Savior Not Made by Hands, the Sign of the Mother of God, Archangel Michael, the holy prophet Elijah, and the holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The last priest, Father Mikhail Rozov, was repressed and shot in 1937, and the exact date of the church's closure is unknown. Subsequently, the building was used as a grain storage facility, with a substation installed in the altar area. Later, it served as a warehouse, and in recent times, the church has become completely abandoned. An active rural cemetery still surrounds it.
