According to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, there was a wooden church in the village. The main altar was cold and dedicated to the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands. The warm chapels included the right one, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the left one, dedicated to the Protection of the Mother of God. The church dates back to 1773 and was moved from the village of Kavrez after 1783.
