The village of Daratniki is located by a pond, 53 versts from the district town and 180 versts from the provincial center, in the northwestern part of Pereslavl district, on the border with Tver province. According to the scribal books of 1628 and 1629, it was the estate of the chamberlain Alexei Mikhailovich Lvov. At that time, the village had the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos with chapels of Saint Andrew the General and the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy, as well as a warm church in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker with a chapel of Saint John Chrysostom.

According to the census books of 1678, Daratniki belonged to the widow of Prince F. Yu. Khorostinin, Elena Borisova. Currently, only the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos remains in the village, where a priest, a deacon, and a sexton serve.

In 1693, a new wooden church was built in Daratniki, the main altar of which was consecrated in honor of the Most Merciful Savior Not Made by Hands, and the chapel in honor of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos.

A hundred years later, with the funds of landowner Naryshkina, the existing stone church with a bell tower was erected in place of the wooden church. This church has three altars: in the cold part, in honor of the Most Merciful Savior Not Made by Hands, and in the warm chapels, in honor of the Assumption of the Mother of God and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Above the main altar, a wooden carved canopy is installed.

The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. Among the icons, the local ancient icon of the Assumption of the Mother of God in a silver-gilded vestment and the Akhtyr icon of the Mother of God, painted on a cypress board and consecrated on Mount Athos, stand out. The altar Gospels with silver images of the Evangelists were transferred from the previous church, one of which dates back to 1774, and the other to 1753.
