Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Belozersk

Фото 1
The brick church, built in 1716 as the cathedral of the monastery, is a two-light square with a decorative five-domed roof. It includes a semicircular altar, a two-aisled refectory, and a bell tower executed in the classical style. The main altar is dedicated to the Trinity, while the side altars are dedicated to the Savior Not Made by Hands and the Tikhvin Icon. Since 1764, the church has served as a cemetery church associated with the Transfiguration Church of the city. In the 1930s, the church was closed, the domes and bell tower were destroyed, and the building was used for economic purposes. In 1989, part of the square collapsed, and to this day, only parts of the walls without vaults remain.
