Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Volyntsy

The Archangel Church in the village of Arkhangelskoye, located on the Volga, Volyntsy, includes two temples. The wooden church was built in 1775 through the efforts of the parishioners, while the stone church, with a similar bell tower, was constructed between 1846 and 1861 with the participation of parishioners and partially by the Popov family.

The wooden church is surrounded by a semi-stone fence, while the stone church has a stone fence with an iron grille. The cemetery is located within the wooden church's enclosure, outside the village. The wooden church has three altars dedicated to the Holy Archangel Michael, All Saints, and Saint Catherine the Great Martyr.

The stone church has five altars dedicated to the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Saint Alexander Nevsky, the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki, miracle workers, and Saint Catherine the Great Martyr.
