The Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit is a parish church of the Kolomna Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and is located in the village of Shkin in the Kolomna District of the Moscow Region.

In the 18th century, the ancient trading village of Shkin belonged to the Moscow noble family of Bibikovs. Their estate housed a wooden church dedicated to the Archangel Michael.

In 1795 and 1800, with funds from the estate owner, Brigadier and Knight Gavrila Bibikov, a stone church was built. Its design is attributed to Rodion Kazakov, and the construction was overseen by the provincial architect I. A. Selekhov, who was working in Shkin at the time. The church was consecrated in 1800.

Worship services in the Church of the Holy Spirit ceased in the 1930s, and in the 1960s, the church was desecrated and used as a warehouse. In the early 1990s, the building was in a state of neglect, but then an icon depicting St. Seraphim of Sarov was found, which marked the beginning of the revival of the church community.
