On the territory of the Voskresensky Uglich Male Monastery stands a small brick refectory church, built between 1674 and 1677. It is named after the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. The interior of the church is modest and consists of one large hall, where the monastery's servants would eat and occasionally hold Orthodox services, mainly in winter. A bell tower adjoins the church on the western side.

In the late 18th century, the building was used as the Uglich Spiritual School. During the establishment of Soviet power, the church was closed, but it was reopened for believers in 1999. Today, it serves as the main church of the male monastery.
