The brick church, decorated in the classical style, was built in 1811. It is a two-light five-domed square with a refectory and a three-tiered bell tower. The main altar is dedicated to the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, while the refectory contains chapels in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Dimitri of Rostov. The church was closed no later than the 1930s, after which it underwent significant changes: the bell tower, the upper part of the square, and the altar were destroyed, and the building itself was altered. Over the years, it was used as a club and a cinema, and later suffered from a fire. In the 2000s, the building was returned to the faithful, and restoration began in 2011.
