In Sosnovitsy, there are two churches: a warm one and a cold one. There is no information about the time and builders of the warm church. The cold church, a separate structure, was built in 1807 with funds from the parishioners. Both churches are made of stone, with the same bell tower and a fence with an iron grille, and they are distinguished by their durability. The warm church has two altars: one in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, and the other in the altar chapel in honor of the evangelist John the Theologian. The cold church has one altar dedicated to the Smolensk Mother of God. The icon of the evangelist John the Theologian is especially venerated.

The churches own 95 desyatins and 1666 square fathoms of land. On the territory, there are three wooden church houses for the priest, deacon, and psalmist. The church capital amounts to 3710 rubles in securities. The parish has 1812 members. The village is located on a small elevation near the Pakhna River, and there is one zemstvo school operating there. The clergy staff includes a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist, and the parish capital is 785 rubles in tickets.

The church was closed in 1940 and was used as a warehouse during the Soviet era. In 2000, it was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. The Church of the Resurrection of Christ, which was also located in this village, was destroyed in 1941.
