The church, consecrated in 1795 in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh, has two side chapels dedicated to the holy apostles Peter and Paul and the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. In the 19th century, a refectory was added to the church with chapels in honor of the Meeting of the Lord and St. Alexius of Moscow. There is a version that Tsar Nicholas II prayed here, as there was a royal pavilion nearby where he received a delegation during his pilgrimage to Sarov for the glorification of St. Seraphim of Sarov. It is also known that St. Pelagia of Diveyevo often sought refuge in this church. During the Soviet era, the building was used as a collective farm garage and grain storage. In the 1990s, the church was transferred to the Serafimo-Diveyevo Monastery and is now the Sergiev Skete, where services are regularly held.
