The Church of Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Tovarkovo was built between 2009 and 2015. Its architectural appearance reproduces the forms and decorative elements of pre-Mongol churches of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality. In terms of size and overall layout, the church resembles the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl from the 12th century.

The construction of the church was financed by summer residents of the village of Tovarkovo, and the project was developed by a Moscow architect. For decorating the facades, concrete cast water features and small plastic elements of individual design were used.

The church is made of brick, it is column-free and has one dome. The drum is supported by cross-braced paired brick buttresses. The building includes a heating basement and a technical crawl space. The church has two entrances, and its altar part is oriented to the south. The "western" facade, which has now become the northern one, is located parallel to the red line of the village street along which the village of Tovarkovo stretches.

The rite of the great consecration of the church was conducted on October 6, 2018, by His Grace Innocent, Bishop of Alexandrov and Yuriev-Polsky.
