The village of Rizovatovo is located in the Pochinkovsky district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the Sergievskaya church in this village was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. The church has a main cold altar dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh and a warm chapel of the prophet Elijah. The church dates back to 1826.

As mentioned in the book "Saint St. Sergius and the Nizhny Novgorod Land," the stone church in honor of Sergius of Radonezh with a chapel in honor of the prophet Elijah was built by local residents in 1826. Until 1916, a wooden church stood nearby, built in 1820 and consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, with a chapel of Sergius of Radonezh. Rizovatovo had a large parish: in 1916, there were 1,139 men and 1,162 women here. The residents actively cared for the beautification of the church. From 1887 to 1902 and from 1905 to 1918, the church elder was peasant Ivan Polikarpovich Shokurov, elected by his fellow villagers. He donated funds for the creation and gilding of the iconostasis, which was decorated with silver coverings, as well as for the purchase of liturgical utensils. In total, he donated more than 1,000 rubles in silver for the beautification of the church. For his merits, I.P. Shokurov was awarded letters of gratitude and medals "For Diligence" from the Holy Synod. The last rector of the Sergievsky church before the revolution was Archpriest Alexei Ivanovich Travnitsky, who served from 1902 to 1919. In 1938, the church was closed and later used as a collective farm warehouse. Recently, local residents have begun its restoration.
