The village of Peski, located by the Kryakovka River, is 7 versts from the district town and 110 versts from the provincial capital. According to the clerical books from 1637-1647, the village of Peski belonged to Lev Zhdanov Shipov. At that time, there were the estate of the landowners, two peasant households, one landless household, and one vacant household. Currently, the village has 59 households.

The first church in Peski was built in 1870, and the parish was opened in 1873. In 1877-1879, the main temple was added to this warm church. In 1893-1894, the warm church was dismantled and rebuilt. The funds for the decoration and reconstruction of the temple were provided by S. I. Senkov and O. And. Senkova.

The church has three altars: the main one in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh, in the warm part of the refectory, in the name of the Holy Apostle John the Theologian, and in honor of the Nativity of Christ.

The parish includes the village of Peski and the villages of Svinovo, Mishurovo, Kuzmino, and Tretyakovo. According to the parish records, there are 401 men and 389 women registered in these areas.
