In 1881, a stone single-altar warm church was built in the village in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh the Miracle Worker.
By the end of the 19th century, the church clergy included a priest and a psalmist. The parish included only Karelianskaya Slobodka, which had 84 households with 243 male peasants and 273 female peasants.
