The building was constructed according to the project of architect Alexander Vadimovich Pashkov between 1998 and 2000. It arose from the major reconstruction of a two-story residential house from the 1850s, which was previously used as a kindergarten and was transferred to the monastery by the city Duma. During the reconstruction, a dining room and living quarters were placed on the first floor, while the church of Sergius of Radonezh was located on the second floor.
