The cornerstone for the Sergius Church in Dzerzhinsk was consecrated on December 25, 2010, and the Great Consecration of the church took place less than two years later, on October 21, 2012.
A significant event for the young parish occurred on June 1, 2015, when a procession with the icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh and a relic of his holy remains took place in the city. The procession headed to the site of the destroyed church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity with a chapel dedicated to St. Sergius in the village of Chernoye. This event was timed to the 700th anniversary of the birth of St. Sergius of Radonezh and was accompanied by the participation of the brotherhood choir of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra.
On December 16, 2015, in the year marking the 650th anniversary of St. Sergius of Radonezh's presence in Nizhny Novgorod, a monument to the saint was unveiled and consecrated on the parish grounds. After the Divine Liturgy in the Sergius Church, it was consecrated by Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.
