The church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on Chang Island, belonging to the Thai diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, is located in the village of Klong Son in the northwest of Chang Island in Trat Province, Thailand.

On October 10, 2013, Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand, along with Priest Danai (Daniel) Vanna and Hieromonk Mikhail (Chepel), arrived on the island to explore proposals for purchasing land. The delegation was accompanied by Alexey Radionov, appointed as the head of the community and responsible for the construction of the church. It was decided to acquire a plot of 320 square meters near the pier so that the Orthodox church would be visible to all who needed it.

In 2018, the Russian service of the BBC described this place as a point of intersection between the tourist and authentic fishing parts of the island, where a small Russian Orthodox church had emerged. The land here was relatively inexpensive compared to other beaches.

On December 16, 2013, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia blessed the construction of the new church. On January 16, 2014, an additional plot of land over 400 square meters was purchased, increasing the total area to nearly 760 square meters to provide space for construction and avoid buildings obstructing the view of the church.

On February 13, Archbishop Mark (Golovkov) consecrated the cornerstone of the Sergius Church. At the request of the parishioners, the construction was moved from 2015 to 2014.

On May 12, Priest Danai (Daniel) Vanna signed a contract for the construction of the church, which was expected to be completed within 10-12 months. Construction began in the same month, with Mr. Tiger, a distinguished builder and police officer of Chang Island, as the general contractor.

On October 8, the feast day of St. Sergius of Radonezh, a Divine Liturgy was held in the still unfinished church, conducted by Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), Priest Danai (Daniel) Vanna, and Priest Roman Bychkov. The choir of St. Nicholas Cathedral from Bangkok performed hymns. Archimandrite Oleg gifted the community an icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh, painted for the anniversary.

On November 5, 2014, Priest Danai (Daniel) Vanna consecrated the domes and crosses of the Sergius Church.

On January 13, 2015, the completion of the church's construction and finishing was announced, as well as the cessation of fundraising for its construction.
