Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery in Murom

Фото 1
After the consecration of the restored gate church in honor of St. Cyril of Belozersk on the eastern side of the monastery wall, facing the Oka River, another gate church was laid in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. This small church, distinguished by its modest size and architecture, was built in a very short time. On October 26, 2005, Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal conducted the consecration of the church. On the same day, an icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh, previously consecrated at the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra on the relics of the 'Abbot of the Russian Land,' was delivered to the monastery. The bell tower features bells cast according to ancient traditions, and every visitor to the church can ring them. From here, there is a stunning view of the Oka River and the endless Russian expanses.
